Mountain View Credit Union is a well established and successful Credit Union located in mid-central Alberta serving over 20,000 Members from 11 branch locations.  Mountain View is a full service credit union with assets in excess of $530 million, a strong equity position and a history of operational excellence.

 

Reporting directly to the President and CEO, the Vice President, Marketing will be responsible for the overall marketing, advertising, public relations, and community image campaigns of the Credit Union.  The Vice President will ensure that all efforts support the corporate strategy and specific business development campaigns. This role will also design and monitor all corporate communications ensuring the dissemination of a consistent and creative image and message. 

 

Key accountabilities include:

  • Working with the executive team, develop and implement marketing plans and approaches that support the corporate strategy.
  • Prepare and maintain the annual marketing budget including variance reporting as required.
  • Communicate marketing strategies with all the branches prior to campaign start and utilizes branch focus groups where possible to assist in development stage.
  • Provide support to branches/departments specific to marketing communications or product promotion.
  • Develop and manage public relations efforts in conjunction with local media, community activities and public advertising.
  • Coordinate and evaluate requests for sponsorship, donations and credit union involvement. Proposals for larger requests directed through the Board of Directors.
  • Identify market trends, threats, and opportunities and present action plans based on that research.

Key requirements include:

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration majoring in marketing plus a minimum seven years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred experience in a marketing or public relations environment with general management and market research experience.
  • Team based project management skills and excellent leadership & communication skills are required along with the desire and ability to facilitate organizational change.
  • Ability to support effective interaction between and among people and groups of people.
  • Ability to persuade, influence, negotiate, motivate people and events.
  • Executive level public speaking skills/facilitation skills.
  • Proven success as a coach and mentor who can develop and motivate employees, board, members, community and external groups.
  • Strong understanding of the change management process and the ability to lead changes as they relate to credit union strategic direction.
  • Flexible and adaptable work style in implementing the credit union’s goals.
  • The ability to implement strategic policy to support the identification, development and delivery of products and services.
  • Following the strategic plan, develop, prioritize and implement organizational/department plans and strategies.
