Mountain View Credit Union raises $21,000 for Didsbury Municipal Library

Jul 12, 2017

Mountain View Credit Union proudly presented a $21,000 cheque to the Didsbury Municipal Library on July 6, 2017. The funds were raised through the generous support of sponsors and golfers at the credit union's 7th Annual Charity Golf Classic, held at Coyote Creek Golf Resort near Sundre. 147 golfers enjoyed a beautiful sunny day to help Mountain View Credit Union raise money for this very worthwhile organization.

The funds raised this year will be put towards an expansion project for the Didsbury Municipal Library, beginning in mid-2017. After the expansion and renovation to their existing space, the new library will be double the size and equipped to offer engaging, innovative programs and materials for all generations.

“The Board is pleased to be able to support such diverse groups, all in our local areas and we are very proud to have such great attendance at our charity golf tournament again this year” said Richard Anderson, chair of the Board of Mountain View Credit Union, during his speech following the tournament.

In just 7 years, Mountain View Credit Union has raised $135,000 for local organizations with this event, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the help of all of the sponsors, golfers, and volunteers who come out and support this tournament every year. Mountain View Credit Union is so proud to support all of our Central Alberta communities, and to see the positive difference that a group of committed volunteers can make.

Mountain View Credit Union is looking forward to continue hosting the Charity Golf Classic each year, to enjoy a great day of golf while raising money for our local organizations.
