We offer a range of financial, trade and support services to ensure that Alberta credit unions are stable, vibrant and innovative financial institutions.
 

Financial products and services

One of Alberta Central's principle roles is to ensure the financial stability of the Alberta credit union system by maintaining liquidity – essentially providing a place for credit unions to invest and borrow funds. We also ensure we maintain enough assets to meet the liquidity requirements and best practices at provincial and national levels.
 

Our other financial responsibilities include asset and liability management, financial analysis and lending and legal counsel services.
 

Compliance and risk services
This area focues on providing resources and tools around regulatory compliance and risk management, including cyber security, fraud awareness and crisis management planning.

Government relations and research

Support is provided to credit unions for government relations and market research.

Strategic and corporate services

This area is responsible for strategic planning, provincial communications and marketing support, internal human resources, facility services and purchasing and supplies.

 

Audit services

Audit Services is the service provider of choice for most Alberta credit unions who need internal audit services, with deep expertise and a cost efficient approach.
 

Information technology

Alberta Central provides a wide range of information technology services to credit unions and other organizations. These services are provided through Central's joint venture, Celero Solutions.
